Living Route 66 is a major experiment in collective filmmaking. A documentary film capturing an entire year along the world’s most iconic road for its Centennial, placing the narrative in the hands of those who truly live it. This project invites Fulltime RVers to become the protagonists. We aren’t looking for tourists; we are looking for the perspective of those who have made the road their permanent home and their daily horizon
How to Participate
Throughout the Centennial year, document your life along Route 66. No film crew needed: your camera or smartphone is enough. Film your reality: capture what you see, from the Kansas plains to the Arizona deserts. Be authentic: tell us what it means to live in an RV during the event the challenges, freedom, and faces of the Mother Road. Leave your mark: upload your contributions through our dedicated website.
The Final Project: A Piece of History
All gathered footage will be selected and edited into a major documentary film: the definitive portrait of the world’s most famous road in 2026.Your clips will become part of the official Centennial documentary, linking your personal contribution to the history of Route 66. It’s a way to capture your experience and make your journey an integral part of the collective memory of this legendary highway.
